New MotorTrend TV Show Last Chance Garage - Starring Ed Giacomucci!

UK customers may not be familiar with US Sales Manager Ed Giacomucci, but Ed has now become Traction’s resident celebrity. Ed is featuring in a new series, called ‘Last Chance Garage’ where he works alongside Tony D'Antonio working to problem-solve old vintage cars, and it is now available to view on discovery+ in the UK.

D'Antonio Automotive, based in West Chester, specialise in repairing, restoring and reviving classic, custom and vintage cars. Ed works alongside Tony D’Antonio junior and his old school buddy Tony Senior, advising, repairing and occasionally mediating between the two.

The show sees Tony lead his team of incredibly skilled mechanics work to undo the mistakes of other garages, and revive the cars and the dreams of their owners. The show focuses on how the team have a unique skill set when it comes to classic and vintage cars that won’t run, especially those that have had previously botched jobs that need fixing.

Here’s a great synopsis from thefutoncritic.com:

“Speciality car restoration mistakes are much more common than you’d think, and each episode of Last Chance Garage features a car with a horrifying backstory: multiple shops, years lost, and tens of thousands of dollars in sunk costs. On the flip side of that struggle, audiences will see the customer and learn about their unique - and often deeply personal - connection to their car.”

NBC10 interviewed D’Antonio, and asked him what it means to get these cars back on the road:

“it's all about helping people relive some of their favorite memories. What that does is it gives you the ability to relive the greatest moments in your life when you were having the most fun or most enjoyment or most love," he said. "I’m able to bring those moments back for you… through a car.”

Ed’s role in the show is the foil to Tony Senior, helping cajole decision-making, whilst offering his own expert advice on the vehicles. Of course, Ed uses the Traction Direct products from time to time, to help restore old batteries or support the car during diagnostics. You may even catch a glimpse of a unit or two during the shows!

Traction Direct is extremely proud to be associated with this excellent new series and look forward to watching Ed impart his incredible knowledge of the inner workings of cars, and to help bring joy back to the car owners.
